Fixed a bug where Azmeri Spirits chance to manifest when released was increased by each possessing spirit, instead of being split between each spirit. Fixed a bug that prevented players from using currency on Strongboxes in the Barren Atoll Expedition while playing with a controller. Disease puddles left behind by the Plaguebearer Back Attachment MTX now fizzle away after a short period of time. The Plagueling which is birthed from Chetza, The Feathered Plague, no longer revives in Rituals. Precursor Tablets are no longer able to be Ctrl-Clicked into unavailable slots when opening non-regular maps, for example Matriarch/Patriarch Halls or a Grand Expedition. Precursor Tablets now have better feedback when the tablet is not applied to the map, greying out and showing their number in red. Fixed an issue where Ritual reward deferral cost could show incorrect values. Fixed a bug where Delirium progress would not pause while the player was in the Viridian Wildwood Fixed a bug where Manifest Weapon could not attack enemies while you had a Talisman equipped. Fixed a bug where Cryptic Keys were able to be used on Buried Strongboxes in Expeditions. Fixed a bug where Moor of Fallen Skies did not have a Verisium Remnant in the Runes of Aldur league. Fixed a bug where you could quick move a fourth tablet into a map when only three slots were available. This is purely a visual change, the fourth tablet was never consumed. Fixed a bug where Vampiric Mortar Cannon, Artillery Ballista, Siege Ballista could not be applied to skills through the cosmetics UI. Fixed a bug where Spark visuals had an incorrect appearance after passing through a Phantasmal Flame Wall. Fixed a visual bug where the Azmeri Noble Deer Pet was sometimes invisible. Fixed a bug where Arachnamagus Portal would pop in and out of existence without playing its effect properly. Fixed a client crash.

0.5.5c Patch Notes

Fixed a rare issue where some players were unable to complete the Legacy of the Precursors questline after defeating the Arbiter of Divinity. You now have to have been present when the bosses of the Patriarch Halls and Matriarch Halls die in order to pick up the Origin Spark and Origin Cradle. You now have to have been present when the bosses of the Western Enigma Chamber and Eastern Enigma Chamber die in order to pick up the Ancient Crisis Fragment and Weathered Crisis Fragment. Players that had already defeated the Arbiter of Ash but hadn't actually defeated Count Geonor and Doryani in the Enigma Chambers would have been unable to progress their Legacy of the Precursors Quest. Those players can now defeat the Arbiter of Ash and should be able to see and speak to Doryani after ascending the elevator in The Burning Monolith to progress their quest. In order to access Act 4 Islands, you must now have turned in the Boat Charter to Makoru. Existing characters that did not do this already will be unaffected. Fixed a bug where Deferred Items in Ritual could update their costs multiple times in a single area. This could happen each time Favours were Rerolled. Fixed an issue where The Hooded One wasn't visible near Rog's shop in Kingsmarch if you had travelled to islands without having sailed to the island. Fixed a bug where the player did not wake up in bed upon first entering the Ziggurat Refuge endgame town. Fixed an issue where characters that either migrated from SSF or died in Hardcore didn't retain some Runesmithing Knowledge unlocks from the Runeseeker quests in the campaign. Fixed a bug where Tavakai, the Chieftain could get blocked by player minions when moving to phase 2 of the fight. Fixed a bug where the 2nd tier of the Trial of Chaos modifier "Wager of Chaos" was only giving +1 minimum rewards instead of +2. Fixed a bug where Rakkar, the Frozen Talon could become immune to some damage if you parried it during certain skills. Fixed a bug where Tor Gul, the Defiler could stop performing actions if you parried or stunned it during certain skill. Added an "Identify Items" option to Balbala in the Trial of the Sekhemas. Fixed a bug where players could get inside terrain in the Trial of Chaos. Fixed an issue where Asinia and Draven could output the wrong names to chat when speaking out loud in the Forbidden Rites league. Fixed a bug where Farrow's shop could fail to find Verisium stored in Expedition Stash Tabs. Fixed 3 client crashes. Fixed 3 instance crashes.

Fixed a bug where Expedition could not spawn naturally in Endgame. Increased the droprate of Expedition, Temple & Delirium Tablets. Players who fail their Chimeral Inscribed Ultimatum can obtain another one from The Trialmaster at the entrance of The Temple of Chaos. The player is now guided to complete the ritual after killing Ketzuli in the Temple of Kopec. Fixed a visual bug where Verisium Remnants that were exploded in an Expedition could be highlighted when placing explosives from another Expedition. Fixed a bug that caused delirium mirror to spawn in blocking in the Seepage map. Fixed a rare bug where the Mastodon Tusks wouldn't drop after defeating Ekbab, Ancient Steed and Iktab, the Deathlord in The Bone Pits.
The Forbidden Rites event league (Standard, Hardcore and Solo Self-Found). Headline changes: Campaign Rituals : Ritual Effigy clusters appear twice per Act and once per Interlude; Tribute can be spent on Unique Items and party members earn their own Tribute. Sacred Blooms are a Ritual reward that can add the Viridian Wildwood to a cluster of Maps on your Atlas; they can only be found in the Forbidden Rites league. Trial of Chaos runs can be left and resumed, each room ends in a reward chest, and the rewards for completing a run are now only Currency and Soul Cores. Expeditions (Runes of Aldur) are now a core Atlas mechanic, including in Standard; you can find them from Act 4 onwards. 17 new Soul Cores (13 Jiquani, 4 Atziri); Atmohua, Cholotl and Zantipi Soul Cores now convert 40% of requirements (was 20%). Arbiter of Ash and Arbiter of Divinity swap their all-elemental resistances for a single resistance plus a vulnerability. See the official forum thread for the complete notes.

Fixed a bug that could cause skills to target the wrong direction if you locked onto an enemy within a very short window of starting the skill. This bug was responsible for a large number of player reports of incorrect targeting behaviour. Fixed a bug where some Boss Skills that grab you could lock you into an animation indefinitely if you were shapshifted when grabbed. Fixed an issue where you would sometimes perform another Dodge Roll when releasing the input after sprinting. Fixed a bug where shapeshifting would disable the energy waves created by Charged Staff from triggering once you swapped back to using a Quarterstaff. Fixed a bug where the Evertree Map Device microtransaction did not visually bloom correctly. Fixed an issue where the tracking display of the Fateweaver's Map Device microtransaction could not be toggled when using a controller. Fixed an issue where the icon for desecrated currency was not visible on the Tracking Scroll of Exotic Items microtransaction.
Significantly Improved shader loading times and reduced size of shaders. This change requires all shaders to be recompiled, so load times will be slower the first time you play the game after this patch. Fixed an issue where shaders could be slow to load after recovering from a GPU crash when using the Vulkan renderer. Disabled the Fossilize Vulkan layer when playing on Steam, which fixes an issue where the Steam shader cache could grow to an immense size. Locked is now the default Vsync setting. The "Adaptive" sync method has some frame pacing problems and is no longer recommended.
This patch adds respawn support for more endgame content and support for renaming characters through the website, as well as other improvements and bug fixes. Improvements and Changes Added up to five respawn attempts for the Twisted Domain area, based on the area difficulty. If the Breach Domain is completed but you die during the Xesht, We Who Are One boss fight, you will revive at the entrance to the boss arena. If you die before completing the Breach Domain, you will revive at the start of the domain. Repeated attempts of the domain will result in no experience from monsters. Added up to five respawn attempts for the Olroth, Origin of the Fall boss fight, based on the fight difficulty. Added up to five respawn attempts for the Crux of Nothingness area, based on the area difficulty. If you die before killing The King of the Mists, reviving will place you inside the boss arena and begin the fight again. Respawns can only be triggered by the person who put in the Expedition Logbook, Breachstone or An Audience with the King, and everyone in your party will be respawned at the same time. Added more checkpoints to several Map areas and improved the placement of some checkpoints. Added the "/ResetAtlas" chat command which can only be used to reset your Atlas when it's in a bricked state (no available maps). Added Minimap Icons for Strongboxes. Minimap Icons for League mechanics now remain visible regardless of how far away you travel from them, making it easier to return to them later. Hitting inanimate objects, such as Ice Crystals, Tempest Bell or Vine Arrow plants, can no longer cause your trigger skills to generate energy. Vine Arrow plants no longer take damage from hits, and therefore no longer cause your on-hit effects and similar stats to take effect. Minions can now briefly squeeze through smaller gaps if they've failed to move for a short period. Channelled skills which scale their costs with attack/cast speed modifiers now explicitly describe this. Unused stats in the skill and character menu interfaces are no longer displayed. The Stun Threshold tooltip now provides more information on stun mechanics. Added customisable targeting behaviour settings when using a controller. These can be viewed and selected in the bind skills menu. Added Charms to the controller HUD. Added a setting to display advanced item information when inspecting items while using a controller. Added dedicated keybinds for confirming choices in various interfaces when using a controller, such as opening a Map in the Map Device, or starting a Trial at the Relic Altar. Increased font size of text in various locations when using a controller. Improved item navigation when using a controller. Improved targeting behaviour for ranged attacks when using a controller. Improved targeting behaviour for Offering skills when using a controller. Made further changes to reduce the aggressive targeting of Tempest Bell when using a controller. Reverted the change from the 0.1.1 patch that allowed you to pick up items and interact with some objects while performing other actions due to issues it introduced. You can now change the name of your Path of Exile 2 characters, or swap the names of two of your characters. You can access this through the My Account page on the website after the patch is deployed. Enabled the following existing cosmetic microtransactions for use in Path of Exile 2: Exile's Pilfering Ring, Exile's Pedometer Ring, Evertree Map Devices, Timekeeper's Map Devices, Peddler's Rain Hideout Decorations, Octoparasite Pets. Continued to incrementally improve the sound, art, effects and environments. Bug Fixes Fixed a bug where you could lose access to the Map Device when migrating out of a Solo Self-found League. Fixed a bug where Zarokh, the Temporal could continue using his spinning lightning skill after death or while heavily stunned. Fixed a bug where Zarokh, the Temporal's spinning lightning beam skill was not able to hit victims hiding in the corners of the arena. Fixed a bug where players could remain immune to damage after the expiry of a stolen Proximal Tangibility monster modifier. Fixed a bug where on-death elemental explosions from Rare Monster minions would fail to render their telegraph if the corpse was destroyed on hit, such as by shattering the monster. Fixed a bug where the Twin Threats Atlas Passive Skill could sometimes duplicate monsters incorrectly, resulting in monsters that could not be damaged. Fixed a bug that would prevent kills with Damage over Time being assigned correctly to players, most notably any death to poison or bleeding while the monster still had Energy Shield at the time of death. Fixed a bug where it was possible to snapshot increases to the level of Elemental Skills using the Collapsing Horizon Unique Quaterstaff. Fixed a bug where parts of the Atlas could fail to render if they were far away from your most recent map. Fixed a bug where attempting to equip a weapon with a full inventory when using a controller could lose the previously equipped weapon. Fixed some wonky checkpoints in the Steaming Springs and Blooming Fields Map areas. Fixed a bug where The Trialmaster could use his time stop skill and vanish during his fight. Fixed a rare bug where certain quest items were not dropping for some players correctly. Fixed a bug where the Chimeral Inscribed Ultimatum quest item dropped by Xyclucian, the Chimera could disappear if you tried to pick it up while your inventory was full. Fixed a bug where Persistent Buffs would be removed upon reaching the maximum overflowed Life with the Couture of Crimson Unique Body Armour equipped. Fixed a bug which caused Direct Minions to cause summoned Ancestral Totems to stop using their skills until resummoned. Fixed a bug where Black Strider's web mortar impacts could not be blocked or avoided by dodge roll. Fixed a bug where Withering Presence's frequency and duration values would display as double their actual values in the skill information panel while the skill was active. Fixed a bug where the Crystalline Potential Gemling Legionnaire Ascendancy Passive Skill would cause un-equipped ammo to be set to 0 upon entering a new area. Fixed an issue in couch co-op where one player was able to interact with the Map Device but not open a Map due to them not being the party leader. In couch co-op, Map owners are now made to be the party leader. Fixed various couch co-op bugs where player 2 would open user interface elements of player 1, such as the Endgame Map. Fixed a bug in couch co-op where player 2 was not able to perform fast-travelling between checkpoints. Fixed an issue where you could not view the benefits from Quality on Gems when using a controller. Fixed a bug where the "you have died" screen could persist after being revived in the Arbiter of Ash Boss fight when using a controller. Fixed a bug where charges were not orbiting the Planetary Orb Character Effect microtransactions correctly. Fixed several client and instance crashes. This includes a potential fix for the crash affecting players on Windows 24H2.

This patch contains new endgame tower maps, checkpoints for map areas, respawn attemps for the Arbiter of Ash, as well as many monster changes, unique changes, improvements and bug fixes. Endgame Changes Added 4 new Tower Map areas: Alpine Ridge, Bluff, Mesa, and Sinking Spire. The Lost Towers Map area has also been revamped. To address the problem of only having one attempt at the Arbiter of Ash Boss fight, you will now have up to five respawn attempts at this fight. Respawns can only be triggered by the person who put in the keys, and everyone in your party will be respawned at the same time. Leaving the Map still forfeits your attempt so you'll still need to fight the boss with the build you walked into the Map with. Higher difficulties of the Boss will lower the number of respawn attempts you receive. We'll be looking to add respawn attempts to other Pinnacle content over time. The Arbiter of Ash can no longer be interrupted during his falling flame seed skill. His flaming gale skill can no longer be blocked. The Arbiter of Ash Boss is now invulnerable for longer during its emergence and now takes significantly reduced damage while emerging. The Arbiter of Ash is now way less likely to target minions when using his sword, which could prevent some of their skills being used. Added checkpoints to Map areas. Map areas now contain a minimum of 3 Rare Monsters. Citadels can now appear closer to the Ziggurat Refuge. Improved the visibility of Citadels on the Endgame Map. Maps now display their Biome when hovered in the Atlas UI. Added the new Overseer's Precursor Tablet, a currency item which can be placed in completed Towers to add Map Bosses to valid Maps in radius. These tablets drop from Map Bosses, and can roll exclusive modifiers that affect Map Bosses. Map areas have been adjusted to have more distinct specialities for the content they contain. For example, one Map area might have more total number of monsters, while another is more likely to contain additional content such as Strongboxes, Essences or Shrines. Generally speaking, the more difficult a Map is to clear, or the smaller it is, the more axes it will specialise in. Here's an overview of changes we've made to give Maps more discernibility: A number of Maps now spawn up to double the number of Chests, and twice as many minimum Magic or Rare Chests. A number of Maps now contain up to double the number of Monsters. A number of Maps now contain 50% more Magic Monsters. A number of Maps now contain 50% more Rare Monsters. A number of Maps now have a higher minimum number of Rare Monsters you will encounter. A number of Maps now have a lower minimum number of Rare Monsters you will encounter. A number of Maps now have 50% more chance to contain Essences. A number of Maps now have 50% more chance to contain Strongboxes. A number of Maps now have 50% more chance to contain Shrines. Maps that are only exclusively found in Biomes containing Citadels now have 50% more chance to contain Essences, Strongboxes and Shrines. Unclaimed Hideout Areas now have substantially more Magic Monsters, and fewer Rare Monsters. Monsters in the Untainted Paradise have been breeding. Untainted Paradise now contains 100% more Monsters, of which spawn 100% more (thus quadruple) Magic and Rare Monsters. Improved the highlightability/clickability of Shrines. Reduced the damage scaling of Monsters in Simulacrum encounters with added Difficulty. Adjusted the chance for Maps to contain Bosses, you should be encountering a Boss roughly every 1 in 4 Maps. The chance for Map Bosses to drop a Waystone of the current tier or higher has been reduced to account for the increase in total number of Map Bosses. The Radiant Waystones Atlas Notable Passive now provides +15% chance for Map Bosses to drop a Waystone of the current tier or higher (previously 25%). The small Map Boss Waystone Chance Passives now provide +6% chance for Map Bosses to drop a Waystone of the current tier or higher (previously 10%). The "I'm not afraid of you!" Delirium Atlas Passive Skill now grants "Delirium Bosses in your Maps drop 100% increased Simulacrum Splinters" (previously 50%). Reduced the number of monsters and small chests from Breaches by 15%. Increased the amount of Simulacrum Splinters found in Maps by 20%. Added dedicated 2D art for Waystones that are instilled with layers of Delirium. Crisis Fragments, Breachstones, Simulacrums, and An Audience with the King now have a more appropriate gold value to vendors. Increased how far you can zoom out on the Endgame Map on keyboard and mouse input, to match the zoom level on controller input. Skill Changes Supercharged Slam now has "Each successive aftershock gains +0.5 metres to radius, up to 3 metres (previously uncapped). Scavenged Plating now grants you stacks for a duration based on the enemy's rarity. Normal enemies grant 1 stack, Magic enemies grants 2 stacks, Rare enemies grant 5 stacks, and Unique enemies grant 10 stacks. The Lightning Bolt Skill granted by the Choir of the Storm Unique Amulet has been renamed to Greater Lightning Bolt to differentiate it from the Skill granted by Staves. Triggered Greater Lightning Bolts are now unable to trigger a subsequent Greater Lightning Bolt if the first was a Critical Hit. Greater Lightning Bolt now deals roughly 3.5 times more base Lightning Damage compared to Lightning Bolt. The Temporalis Unique Body Armour can no longer reduce the cooldown of a Skill to below 100ms. Skills socketed in a Meta Gem's sockets can no longer gain energy. Clarified Vine Arrow's description to explicitly state that it hits enemies on landing. Removed the Aura tag from Pain Offering for consistency with other minion skills, as the skill does not directly create an Aura (the Aura is created by the summoned minion). Monster Changes Monsters now have increased Toughness per Essence modifier affecting them. Added a small delay before monsters released from Essence Monoliths can use their skills. Forsaken Miners now throw less grenades, which have also had their damage reduced and their visuals improved. Rudja, the Dread Engineer's grenades now deal less damage in Cruel and Maps. Reduced how far away Faridun Plaguebringers can use their Detonate Dead skill from. The telegraphing for this skill has been improved. The cosmetics tab of the navigation menu has been moved to the end, so that you no longer have to navigate through it to reach the quest or atlas tabs. Improved auto-targeting logic for very large bosses such as Tor Gul The game now pauses by default if a controller becomes disconnected, with an option in the Game tab to instead disconnect. Auto-targeting no longer aggressively prioritises larger enemies and objects (such as Tempest Bell). Pressing X/square while holding a stack of items now deposits a single item from the stack in the currently selected space. Hovering a support gem over a filled socket will now show the support gem currently in that socket. Trying to socket invalid gems using a controller now gives appropriate error messages. Switching to controller input on a character that was created with keyboard and mouse input no longer results in the character having no actions bound. Fixed a bug that prevented rerolling expedition vendors while using a controller. There is now also a dedicated button (Y/triangle) to reroll the vendor. Fixed a bug where the Gemling's Gem Studded notable passive was not accounted for when socketing support gems using a controller. Fixed a bug where the Lost Tower interface had inconsistent controls when using a controller. Fixed a bug that sometimes prevented navigation in the hideout stash while using a controller. Fixed a bug that caused some types of specialised stash tab to fail to display when accessed by both players at the same time in couch co-op. Fixed a bug preventing the toggling of advanced descriptions while investigating an item. Fixed a bug preventing moving a socketed support gem into a different socket when you are close to your support gem limit. Fixed a bug where the "Enable Held Targeting" option did not function for crossbow ammunition skills. Fixed a bug where certain skills would not be performed if used while holding down a different skill's input. Console Improvements Item filters can now be used on consoles by subscribing to a filter on the Path of Exile website. A link to set up an item filter is now provided in the filter section of the settings menu, under the Game tab. Fixed a bug where cutscenes and informational videos had incorrect colour grading on XBox series consoles with HDR enabled. Localisation Fixes Fixed a number of cases of outdated translations Fixed characters with accents not displaying correctly in some languages. Fixed a number of cases where translated text could overlap itself or the borders of its field. Fixed a bug where Thai text did not display correctly on consoles. Fixed a bug where modifier tiers would not be displayed correctly when the game language was set to Traditional Chinese. Fixed a number of cases of keywords not displaying correctly in languages other than English. Microtransactions Enabled the following existing cosmetic microtransactions for use in Path of Exile 2: Siren Wings, Siren Cloak, Siren Weapon, Siren Weapon Effect, Siren Character Effect, Siren Footprints Effect, Siren Portal Effect, Deepwater Wings, Deepwater Back Attachment, Deepwater Weapon, Deepwater Weapon Effect, Deepwater Character Effect, Deepwater Footprints Effect, Deepwater Portal Effect, Atlantis Cloak, Atlantis Wings, Atlantis Portal Effect, Atlantis Footprints Effect, Onyx Oblivion Wings, Onyx Oblivion Weapon, Oblivion Weapon, Direblade Wings, Direblade Weapon, Verdant Weapon, Sulphurous Gargoyle Wings, Alabaster Gargoyle Wings, Stygian Gargoyle Wings, Pitch-black Gargoyle Wings, Illusionist Character Effect, Brimstone Character Effect, Harmony Wings, Harmony Cloak, Harmony Weapon Effect, Harmony Footprints Effect, Harmony Portal Effect, Heritage Wings, Heritage Cloak, Heritage Weapon Effect, Heritage Weapon, Heritage Portal Effect, Divergence Wings, Divergence Cloak, Divergence Weapon, Divergence Weapon Effect, Divergence Footprints Effect, Divergence Character Effect, Divergence Portal Effect, Vulcan Cloak, Vulcan Shield, Vulcan Weapon Effect, Harmonious Weapon, Harmonious Weapon Effect, Electroswarm Character Effect, Project Electroswarm Character Effect, Siren Electroswarm Character Effect, Void Emperor Electroswarm Character Effect, Kalguuran Cloak, Penance Back Attachment, Crucible Armour Set, Cane Toad King Portal Effect, Albino Toad King Portal Effect, River Toad King Portal Effect, Sacred Wisps Portal Effect.
Fixed a bug where Rare monsters could pause Delirium mist for an extended period of time, even before touching the Mirror of Delirium. This could result in opening a mirror and having no monsters spawn, or the mist not expanding fully. In addition, Delirium mist is now paused for 10 seconds when opening a Strongbox (previously 5). Note that unrelated to Delirium Mist, further changes to Strongboxes will be made in an upcoming patch to make them less terrible. Fixed a bug where "increased effect of small Passive Skills in Radius" on Time-Lost Jewels was affected by increases and reductions to modifier effect, such as through The Adorned Unique Jewel. Fixed a bug where if a player changed their maximum life, energy shield or mana (such as through equipping and unequipping items) their current life, energy shield, mana, overcapped mana, or overcapped energy shield would also increase. Fixed a bug where overcapped life from Life Remnants would be erased whenever maximum life changed (such as from levelling up or weapon swapping). Fixed a bug where the projectiles of Zalmarath, the Colossus' knife attack were incorrectly positioned on top of the player. Fixed a bug where aftershocks of Rolling Slam were not dealing damage. Fixed a bug where Ritual Altars could sometimes fail to activate. Fixed a bug where Xesht, We That Are One could sometimes endlessly throw hands. Fixed a bug where the Mad Wolf of Ogham quest could be incompletable if you travelled to Act 2 by other means than talking to The Hooded One. Fixed a bug where many Precursor Tablet modifier descriptions did not display when hovering over Maps in radius of the completed Tower.

0.1.0e Patch Notes

General Improvements and Changes

Added the capacity to fast-travel between Checkpoints within an area. You can now select checkpoints which will bring up your Map Overlay allowing you to select other Checkpoints you have discovered in the area to travel to them immediately. Many more checkpoints have been added to areas generally at all the entrances and exits to areas, meaning if you find those first, you are able to instantly travel to them if you choose to go back and explore an area.

Passive Point Respeccing has been made cheaper especially at higher levels, it had a relatively aggressive curve getting more expensive with character level, we have flattened that curve so it doesn't exponentially grow as much. For Example, this should generally result in an approximately 40-50% less Gold Cost for respeccing between the start and middle of Endgame progression.

Added a shortcut to open a skills advanced information display by right-clicking the skill on your Skill Bar.

You can now compare equipped Flasks when using a Gamepad.

Added Chance Shards to the Currency Exchange.

Added a button to travel to your Guild Hideout when interacting with the Waypoint.

Endgame and Monster Balance

Maps no longer have additional elemental resistance penalties inherently applied at Tier 6 and Tier 11 or higher Maps. It is now consistent across all of the Endgame at the same value as it was previously at Tier 1.

Critical Strikes from Monsters now deal 40% less bonus Damage.

Chaos Damage now scales less aggressively over the Endgame.

The Ground Laser and Ground Lightning abilities used by the Runed Knight in Expedition Encounters now deal substantially less Damage.

The Waystone Modifier that adds Burning Ground to your Maps no longer increases in coverage or area with higher Tier Waystones.

The 'Siphons Flask Charges Modifier' on Monsters now drains ten-times less Flask Charges per second. (This was unintentional).

Disabled the Volatile Crystals Modifier, to be revised in the future pending telegraphing improvements.

The Trail of Fire monster Modifier now deals 30% less Damage and lasts for 3 seconds (from 5 seconds).

The Trail of Lightning monster Modifier now lasts for 4 seconds (from 8 seconds).

The Trail of Ice monster Modifier now lasts for 4 seconds (from 8 seconds).

The Purple Explosives created by the Volatile Plants Modifier on Rare Monsters now deal significantly less Damage.

Packs of Prowling Chimeral's in Maps now contain less of the Prowling Chimerals and spawn alongside some Zombies.

Lowered the baseline monster density of Breach Encounters, primarily by reducing the frequency of the "Elite" monsters appearing.

Fixed an inconsistency in the different types of packs that could spawn during Breach Encounters, you should now see more different types of Monsters appearing on an area to area basis.

The volatiles spawned by the Volatile Fiends Trial of Chaos Modifier now accelerate over time.

The Stormcaller Runes Trial of Chaos Modifier are now smaller, take longer to charge up when standing inside and give more time to escape once triggered. The Runes now also get larger as the Modifier is upgraded.

Improved the hitboxes on a number of abilities used by Blackjaw, the Remnant.

The Crossbow variants of the Decrepit Mercenary monsters that dealt Fire damage now deal less damage.

Trial of the Sekhamas Improvements

Honour Damage now scales down based on distance to enemies, you now take up to 35% less Honour Damage when in close range, tapering as you are further away from Monsters.

Fixed a bug where Damage over Time was dealing three-times as much damage to Honour as intended in the Trial of the Sekhemas, and fixed a bug where Honour Resistance was only applying to two-thirds of that damage taken. (This got confusing for us too).

Skitter Golems no longer use basic attacks and instead now just explode as their attacks were largely unavoidable when in Melee Range.

Serpent Clan burrow and ambush attacks now have improved visual telegraphing and cannot be used from as far away.

Volcanoes created by Rattlecage's Fissure Slam now last half the duration.

Stormcaller Arrow's Bolt now gains additional Impact Radius as it Levels.

Vine Arrow's Damage over Time has been adjusted, it is now slightly higher at Lower Levels, and substantially lower at Higher Levels. The intention of this ability was that you poison it to spread poisons, as opposed to the vine itself dealing immense amounts of Damage.

Tornado Shot's Damage over Time has been adjusted, it is now slightly higher at Lower Levels, and substantially lower at Higher Levels. The intention of this ability was to propagate your other Bow skills, as opposed to doing an immense amount of damage itself.

Path of Exile 2: Upcoming Changes and Improvements

Path of Exile 2 has been live for just over a week! We’ve addressed some feedback already and are working on more fixes for key pain points in an upcoming patch. The full patch notes are coming soon, but check out some of the more significant changes below. Gameplay Features Like we mentioned last week, we’ll be adding the capacity to fast-travel between Checkpoints within an area, as well as adding many more checkpoints to areas, generally at all entrances and exits to areas, meaning if you find these first you’ll be able to instantly travel to them to continue exploring. We’ll also be making Passive Point respeccing cheaper especially at higher levels. It had a relatively aggressive curve getting more expensive with character level, we have flattened that curve so it doesn’t exponentially grow as much. This should generally result in approximately 40-50% less gold cost for respeccing between the start and middle of endgame progression. Trial of the Sekhemas Players were finding Trial of the Sekhemas particularly frustrating in close range so we’ve reworked how Honour Damage scales when in close range, as well as fixing an important bug that was causing players to take far too much Honour Damage from Damage over Time. Honour Damage now scales down based on distance to enemies, when in close range you’ll take 35% less Honour Damage, tapering off as you are further away from Monsters. Fixed a bug where Damage over Time was dealing thrice as much damage to Honour as intended, and fixed a bug where Honour Resistance was only applying to two-thirds of that damage. (This was confusing for us too) Skitter Golems no longer use basic attacks and instead now just explode. Serpent Clans burrow and ambush attack now has improved visual telegraphing and cannot be used from as far away. Volcanoes created by Rattlecage’s Fissure Slam now last half the duration. Endgame and Monster Balance Generally the balance in Endgame Maps was more punishing than intended, so we’ve toned down the damage in a number of ways and disabled a certain on-death effect where the telegraphing was not as clear as it should have been. Maps no longer have additional elemental resistance penalties inherently applied at Tier 6 and Tier 11 or higher Maps. It is now consistent across all of the Endgame. Chaos Damage now also scales less aggressively over the Endgame. Critical Strikes from monsters now deal 40% less bonus Damage. Lowered the baseline monster density of Breach Encounters, primarily by reducing the frequency of the “Elite” monsters appearing. Disabled the Volatile Crystals Modifier, we’ll revisit this in the future pending telegraphing improvements. Purple Explosives created by the Volatile Plants Modifier on Rare Monsters now deal significantly less Damage. The Siphons Flask Charges Modifier on Monsters now drains ten-times less Flask Charges per second. (This was unintentionally draining way too many charges) These changes should generally result in an endgame that is much more survivable than before and we will continue to address problematic cases as they arise. Character and Item Balance We’ve made Charm Modifiers on Belts substantially more common and now appear at much lower levels. The "of Symbolism" Modifier now appears from level 23 onwards, and the "of Inscription" Modifier now appears from level 64 onwards. Electrocute is now 25% harder to buildup. (But the Damage Penalty has been removed from the Support Gem). Added a new Lightning Damage and Electrocute Cluster to the passive tree in between the Ranger and Monk sections. It is now more difficult to chain-freeze enemies by reducing the amount of Freeze Buildup applied after a Freeze has been applied. The Hunter's Talisman Notable now grants +1 Charm Slot. The small passive skills leading up to it now grant the stat it formerly gave. The Charm helper text has been updated to indicate that you cannot have more than three Charm Slots unlocked, so that we can add more sources of it in the future. Skill and Support Gem Balance Since launch we’ve unfortunately had to nerf a few skills that were far too overpowered. How do we define overpowered? Basically it's a situation in which a certain skill is so powerful that players feel no other method of playing the game is viable. Generally speaking we are trying to do this in a way that doesn't make a build bad (but we can make mistakes!). Ideally any truly meta shifting changes will only happen at the same time as a content patch with a new league to play in. But that doesn't mean we haven't been looking at underpowered skills and support gems. We’ve got a number of changes planned which should improve some of these skills. The full list of changes will be in the patch notes but here is a sample of what you can expect. Improvements to Rolling Slam and all Shield Skills in the Mace section. Improvements to various Bow Skills, especially the skills used to generate Frenzy Charges. Improvements to Bone Spells and Chaos Damage over Time Spells in the Occult section. Improvements to various Crossbow Skills, especially those at higher Tiers. Improvements to some of the underachieving Quarterstaff abilities. Alongside all of these Skill Gem improvements we’ve also done a pass over the Support Gems. We’ve added two new Supports and removed or lessened the penalties on many others, notably the Fire, Lightning and Cold Exposure Supports. Added the Tremors Support Gem. Which can be used to give up to multiple more Aftershocks to Skills, with a damage penalty. Added the Bidding Support Gem. Which can be used to give more damage to the Command Skills of Supported Minions. The Fire Exposure, Lightning Exposure and Cold Exposure Support Gems no longer penalize Damage of Supported Skills. They now have a Mana Cost Multiplier of 120%. There are also some notable nerfs to a few of the remaining overachieving skills: Skeletal Arsonists Spirit costs now match the other two Skeleton Mages, this should result in a slight decrease in the number of Arsonists at a higher level. A nerf to the damage over time component on very high levels of Tornado and Vine Arrow. These were never intended to be dealing damage themselves, but more so act as a way for other skills to propagate damage. Magnetic Salvo can now only use your stuck Lightning Arrows as opposed to those created by your Party Members. As we wind down for the holiday season we wanted to thank you all for our most successful launch so far, we could not have done it without all of your support. A lot of our team will begin to take some much needed rest over the next few weeks but we look forward to getting back in the new year refreshed and ready for an exciting year of development in 2025. Happy Holidays, Exiles!

Addressing your Early Access Post-launch Feedback

Hi everyone. The launch weekend has been a blast. We've really enjoyed seeing all of you get your hands on the game and finally try out the project we have been working on for so long. But now that the launch weekend is over it's time for us to look at the feedback and make some changes. There are lots more things coming. The list in this post are some of the things we felt needed to be more urgently addressed. Some of these changes have already been deployed without a realm restart, others will be deployed in an upcoming patch. Dodge Roll Changes A lot of players have expressed frustration about being trapped in by monsters. While it is intended that monsters are able to trap and kill you, we felt that the frequency of this was a little too high. We will be deploying the following changes in an upcoming patch: Player size is now set to Zero units while dodge rolling instead of One unit Some smaller monsters can now be pushed while dodge rolling. This includes monsters such as the Adorned Beetles in Keth. This should result in getting trapped less often. Note that you can still be trapped. A player size of a zero can still not phase through monsters, but it can get through even the smallest gap between them. Checkpoint Changes A lot of players have been reporting that it can be tedious to need to retread areas of maps in order to get back to objectives that they already found. We will be deploying the following change in an upcoming patch: Clicking on a checkpoint will allow you to teleport to other checkpoints in the area that are explored on your minimap Checkpoints have been added to all entrances and exits of zones to allow for teleportation A Checkpoint has been added to the midpoint of the first Dreadnaught area We will be making further adjustments to checkpoint positions as we continue to gather feedback. Item Changes One of the major problems that players have been experiencing is feeling that the game is not rewarding enough. This is an area that we have to be very careful when adjusting because it's very hard to reduce drops if we increase them by too much. We have identified a few key areas that we believe will significantly improve the experience that players are having. We felt that Rare monsters were not rewarding enough. This didn't affect the campaign as much because there are more Unique bosses, increasing the overall amount of drops, but it's especially noticeable when playing in the endgame where Unique monsters are less common. In particular, the reward that you were getting for the increased difficulty of rares wasn't lining up. We have deployed the following changes: Rarity bonus per rare mod has been doubled +10% Quantity bonus per rare mod Increased the chance of rare monsters inherently having more modifiers as you progress through endgame These changes will cause rare monster rewards to naturally scale up as you get to higher levels because the number of mods a monster can have increases throughout the campaign and into endgame. In addition, many other forms of map juicing will indirectly cause rare monsters to have more mods as well, increasing the rewards of these other mechanics too. Also note the change below to make sure each map has a minimum number of rares which will also increase the average number of rare mods, and thus increasing drops further. Currency Changes We felt that players were not getting enough of certain currency either in the early game, or to sustain adding mods to maps. We have deployed the following changes: Regal orb drop rates increased around 40% Disenchanting of six mod rares to give two regal shards instead of one. Lesser Jewellers orbs drop rates increased around 33% Reduced the drop rate of Chaos Orbs slightly as they are less valued and so that it doesn't consume so much of the "rare currency" drop pool. This causes currency such as Exalted Orbs to increase somewhat. Gemcutter's Prism drop rates increased by 500% Gemcutter's Prisms now increase quality on gems by 5% instead of 1% Map Mod Changes Like with rares, we felt that players were not being rewarded enough for the difficulty that was being added by map mods. We have significantly increased the value of all prefix map mods. We have changed all map prefix mods, but some example changes we have deployed are: Rarity mods have been increased by 2.5x Quantity mods have had extra rarity added to them (This is now in a later patch) We removed the bottom tier of some mods You are much more likely to roll modifiers that affect drops or pack size rather than less useful mods In addition, it has been identified that some areas are not being affected by the "Increased Number of Monster Packs" mod as they should be. We will be fixing these maps to work correctly in a later patch. "Unlucky" Drop Protection One of the major issues we have identified are outlier "unlucky" drops. A single Unique boss dropping badly, especially early on can significantly affect your character. We have deployed the following changes: No more than 50% of an Unique monsters drops can be gold Act Bosses and Map Bosses will always drop at least 1 rare The first of these changes is more significant than it first appears because players can't see the difference between "normal" and "rare" gold piles. You will get more equipment and currency items which can take more advantage of the rarity increases that unique monsters provide. Click to Move There was an issue where the "Move Only" command was namelocking. This would often result in your character confusingly attacking in an unexpected direction while holding down this action. We have deployed the following change: Move Only no longer namelocks Endgame Maps A concern for players in endgame maps is accidentally missing Rare monsters. In addition, many maps did not have the number of rare monsters that they should have had. We will be making the following changes in an upcoming patch: Rare monsters now appear on the minimap when there are 200 monsters remaining, instead of 50 Many maps have had additional rare monsters added to them to make sure that there are a minimum number in every map type. Over the coming weeks we will be continuing to work on map layouts and monster density issues in maps. Conclusion We will be posting patch notes for these changes when they're deployed. For a full list of what's just been deployed, check out the patch notes here . There are still a lot more changes to come, these are just some of the changes that are fast for us to make. We will be continuing to monitor feedback and adjusting things as we go.

Path of Exile 2 Early Access Launch - Live Updates 🔴

Path of Exile 2 Early Access Launch - Live Updates 🔴 Path of Exile 2 has launched into Early Access! We'll be updating this thread live throughout the day with any relevant info you may need about the game's deployment. You can also follow us on X for updates if the site is unavailable. The times below are displayed in your local time but you will need to be logged in to view them. The latest updates will be at the top. If you want to join Early Access, check out the new Supporter Packs . These packs provide you with access to the early access release as well as many exclusive microtransactions and even physical goods. Thank you for your continued support! Dec 08, 2024 9:20 PM (GMT) - We're aware of some players having issues logging into their characters. We are investigating this. Dec 09, 2024 2:00 AM (GMT) - Currently, it's a bit too easy to detonate Gas Cloud explosions when combined with persistent Ignite skills like Flame Wall. We'll be adjusting the explosion damage of both Gas Grenade and Gas Arrow for now in an upcoming hotfix. In the future, we want to update it such that the potency of the Ignite or Detonator contributes to determining the damage of the Gas Cloud explosions, that way we would be able to avoid balancing around the simplest and most efficient way to apply Ignites.this. Path of Exile 2 Early Access Day 2 Dec 08, 2024 7:15 AM (GMT) - We've found another skill in an unacceptable balance state. Following the same ideals as earlier, we're also going to be reducing the damage of Magnetic Salvo in the next hotfix. Note that this isn't the only skill on our radar right now but we're really just trying to address egregious cases at the moment. We're currently playing alongside you all and are also collating a lot of your feedback that we'll be addressing as much as possible in the upcoming week once the team is back in the office before the holidays. Thanks Exiles! Dec 07, 2024 9:04 PM (GMT) - Well we've finally hit that point where a skill with unacceptable balance has been discovered! Supercharged Slam is unfortunately dealing far too much damage than was intended given the short channel window required to hit maximum stages. We are imminently going to be reducing its damage. As much as we are trying to avoid nerfing skills and builds, it is better to do this early before it feels obligatory to use the skill. It is important that a wide variety of skills feel viable and fun to play and it simply diminishes all other abilities when one is clearly outshining the others like this. We will be starting with a heavy damage reduction on the ability in the next hotfix, which should be out within an hour. At a later time we will be making further adjustments to how long it takes to build up charges, as it is far too quick at the moment. Path of Exile 2 Early Access Day 1 Dec 06, 2024 11:37 PM (GMT) - For anyone who purchased Path of Exile 2 on Steam, we've resolved the issue and the purchase queue should be processed in about 15 minutes. Dec 06, 2024 11:28 PM (GMT) - We should have a fix out soon for players purchasing Path of Exile 2 through Steam being unable to login. Dec 06, 2024 10:29 PM (GMT) - We're aware of players being unable to claim their Steam keys due to the Path of Exile website being down. Our website team currently has this as their top priority and have a plan of action to restore this service to allow you to play the game! A huge thanks for the grace being displayed by those affected. Dec 06, 2024 10:10 PM (GMT) - For those still in queue, what we are doing right now is letting in players in batches so that we can make sure to monitor the backend and not overload it. Thanks once again for your patience and hopefully it won't be too much longer. Dec 06, 2024 10:07 PM (GMT) - We're aware of an issue with players in parties sometimes being placed into parties with other random players. Until we fix this, consider it a feature to enhance your social experience! Dec 06, 2024 9:25 PM (GMT) - We've run into the same symptom again with a different problem. We are working on fixing it again but regrettably every time this happens we have to restart and wipe the databases to prevent them getting into bad or corrupted states. We'll have a fix out as soon as we can! Thank you once again and more updates will follow as we learn more. Dec 06, 2024 9:05 PM (GMT) - While our backend engineers and server administrators are hard at work fixing the problem we just wanted to put a message out there to thank them so much for everything they're doing. They have been tasked with a nearly impossible feat and have been up all night now into the morning. Their resilience and commitment to ensuring the realm is stable and provides the best experience for the players is nothing short of admirable. We couldn't ask for a better team! Thank you very much and please keep sending them your support! Dec 06, 2024 8:46 PM (GMT) - The problem we ran into was due to adding more database shards in the last minute to try to support the massive player numbers. Unfortunately there was an issue which caused multiple characters to have the same character id. Thankfully the problem has now been found and is being fixed at this very moment. Your ongoing patience and support is hugely appreciated and we will continue to provide updates as we learn more. Dec 06, 2024 8:41 PM (GMT) - We've run into a configuration problem and need to restart the realm. Please bear with us while we address the problem. Dec 06, 2024 8:13 PM (GMT) - "Relatively imminent." - Jonathan Dec 06, 2024 7:58 PM (GMT) - Another update, we've found a last minute crash that would have affected a majority of users that we have now fixed and is being deployed, once that's out we will be doing our final checks then opening access. If there are any further updates we will let you know immediately, once again thank you very much for your patience, we're almost there! Dec 06, 2024 7:32 PM (GMT) - We've deployed the new database configuration and are working on getting everything back up and running. Our current time estimates should have access opening within the next half hour. Thanks again for your support, we'll continue to provide updates as they come. Dec 06, 2024 7:17 PM (GMT) - We're still working on deploying the database improvements and will keep you updated as soon as we know more. The moment we can provide a precise timeline we will. Thank you very much for your patience. Dec 06, 2024 6:15 PM (GMT) - We're doing some last minute database upgrades to try help handle the overwhelming amount of Exiles getting ready to LOGIN to Path of Exile 2. We're trying to get this done ASAP, but it may cause a short delay in the servers going live.
